Approximately 10 years ago, a scholarship named “Isaac Tan” began at Hawaii Pacific University. This scholarship is awarded to one student annually. The monetary award began with US$ 500, true to Petitecredit roots of small amounts. The scholarship amount was later increased to US$ 2000.
Petitecredit believes in the redeeming value of education. Particularly, for an individual born in challenging circumstances, the obtainment of a university education could be a possible path to independence and a way to break the cycle of poverty. Two of our early borrowers, took loans from Petitecredit to help finance their university education, one to complete their English language studies and the other to complete Law studies at the National University of Laos.

In honor and remembrance of Irene Ang Ai Ling, a scholarship was placed at 翁爱玲纪念奖学金 “Chung Cheung High School” in Singapore. 10 scholarships have been established with each having a sum of SGD $1000 with 2 scholarships being awarded each year.
Petitecredit remembers the kind heart of Irene and the peace, joy, and love that she exuded, always thinking of others first. Although passing in late 2023, she will always continue to live on through the memory of others and through the memorial scholarship. May Irene’s legacy of kindness, compassion, service, love, and dedication resonate, encouraging students to make a positive impact on their communities in living a purposeful life.

Petitecredit made two small contributions in 2021, totaling AED 960 to Al Jalila Foundation, United Arab Emirates. Contributions were for Baby Mariam and Julien.
Contributions are reflected here to serve as an encouragement to others, that no contributions are too small. Act today, and act now to help someone in need, in a small way. Petitecredit believes that by giving, one will receive much more in return, not monetarily, but in building a better world, with one act of kindness at a time.
Al Jalila Foundation specializes in the field of cancer research. It is an area where there is a pressing need for discovery and advancement. With evolving genetics and mutation, any progress in cancer research will mean savings more precious lives. There is an unmet need, a cancer treatment vacuum, which will stand to benefit from the work and research led by Al Jalila Foundation.
